Mission Trips
The mission trips we participate in are evangelistic.
We don't go to build structures or for medical reasons.
We go to tell people the Good News about how the can be
forgiven for the things they have done wrong and they can
have relationship with God.
We are assigned to a local church. A church member accompanies us as we make
visits to in houses are talk to people in the street. The church follows-up
with people who have made decisions.
Santa Ana, El Salvador, 2023
Our second trip to El Salvador and our second trip with Connexion. This time
we were working with recently planted churches and had the priviledge of working with
a young couple who were pastoring this church.
Piura, Peru, 2023
Piura is in the northern part of the country not far from Ecuador. Our
church was very well prepared and the people we encountered were very receptive. I was
paired with a church member named Israel and an interpreter named Belen and we
went door-to-door talking to people while Ginger and the pastor made prearranged visits.
We saw over 150 people pray to accept Jesus from just our church.
Below is a video from the project.
Santa Ana, El Salvador, 2022
On our fifth trip we would return to Latin America.
We were able to tell many people that we are forgiven of the things we have done wrong
because of what God did for us, not anything good we have done to earn God's favor.
We were paired with a great interpreter named Alex.
Kongsomba, Cameroon, 2022
COVID cancelled all the trips for a couple of years. Early 2022 would find us
for our first trip to Africa. This was some of the most difficult conditions
we have worked in. It was hot and the only air conditioning was in the hotel room
and that was when it worked. Traffic in the city was intense.
It was also the most productive trip we had been on.
The people were very receptive to the Gospel and there was over 2000 people
who prayed to accept Jesus on the project.
Peurto Montt, Chile, 2019
Our third trip would take us to the southern end of the South American continent.
Unfortunately, there was
civil unrest in the country with numerous protests aimed the government while we
were there. This limited the number of visits we could make but gave us more
opportunity to train the church members how to share their faith.
San Jose, Costa Rica, 2019
We would return to Costa Rica, this time we would be in the capital city
of San Jose. We would be paired with an established church not far from the center
of town - very different conditions than Filadelphia. We would see God at work and many lives changed.
Filadelphia, Costa Rica, 2018
Our first mission trip together would take us to a small agricultural community
in northern Costa Rica. The church we were working with was new and did not
have many members. But their members had a passion for wanting their friends
and family members to hear about Jesus. We saw over 100 people pray to receive
Jesus.
